Jacques Cousteau once called the Sea of Cortez the “aquarium of the world.” With an abundance of species and breathtaking scenery topside and underwater, it’s not difficult to see why.

During the summer months, a magnificent migration occurs: huge fevers of mobula rays that can be in the hundreds or even thousands. The area is also home to a large amount of cetaceans, and a peak time to see pods of orcas feeding on rays. Common sightings include: baitballs, dolphin superpods, massive pregnant whale sharks, fin whales (the second largest whale on earth!) and of course, orcas.
